The Pretty Reckless Rock Boston

The Pretty Reckless rocked the Paradise in Boston to close out the first leg of their tour. This was a show that I was looking forward to for some time. The Pretty Reckless is one of my favorite bands to photograph and is one of the best live bands on the scene today. Along with The Pretty Reckless was supporting act Heaven’s Basement, a heavy hitting, in your face pure rock band from the UK.

_DSC0940-editThis was my first introduction to Heaven’s Basement and I was blown away before they finished their first song. Heaven’s Basement released their first single from their debut album, Filthy Empire titled “Fire, Fire” in 2012 and the title says it all……they are on fire! For a band that has only been on the scene for a few years, they have perfected their craft and would appear to have been at this for much, much longer. With other titles such as “Welcome Home”, “Heartbreaking Son of a Bitch” and “I am Electric” this band is just in the beginning stages of becoming something much bigger.

Having seen this band many times in the past, I knew I would be in for a real treat. Well, The Pretty Reckless did not let me down. Kicking off their set with a brand new song “Follow Me Down”, this band was in your face from the first note.

Playing through songs such as “Since You’re Gone”, “Hit Me Like a Man” and “My Medicine”, the packed room of the Paradise sang every word back to the band, even at times overpowering the band themselves. Two of the crowd favorites at most every show seem to be “Zombie” and “Make Me Wanna Die” which seem to get the crowed pumped up. They even played a cover of Audioslave’s “Like a Stone” in their encore. _DSC0951-edit

With a mix of new and old, The Pretty Reckless filled the room with a few of the new tracks off the upcoming album “Going to Hell” (Release date March 18, 2014). For many of us, this has been a long awaited release. If the rest of the album sounds anything like what I have heard so far, “Going to Hell” will remain on my playlist for some time.

The Pretty Reckless is getting ready to embark on the Snocore Tour with tour mates Heaven’s Basement which kicks off next week on January 29th in Lincoln, NE. This tour will take them across the U.S. and onto Europe and the U.K. Be sure to visit to see the list of tour dates……..don’t miss this band!
